Who we are

Evova Ltd ("Evova", "we", "us") operates https://evova.uk. We run a directory of EV charger installers and an installer-matching service — an introducer that connects people who want an EV charger with local installers. We do not carry out installations ourselves. For any privacy question, email hello@evova.uk.

The information we collect

When you submit our quote form, we collect the details you provide, which typically include:

  • Your name and contact details (email, and phone if you give it)
  • Your postcode and details about your property and what you'd like installed
  • Anything else you choose to tell us in your message
  • Optionally, a photo of your fuse box (consumer unit) if you choose to add one after submitting — used only to help your installer prepare an accurate quote

We also use optional analytics cookies to understand how the site is used — but only if you agree. Nothing optional runs until you accept. See Cookies and consent below.

How and why we use your information

We use your details to:

  • Match you with a suitable installer and respond to your enquiry
  • Pass your enquiry to that installer so they can prepare a quote for you

Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR) to match you and pass your enquiry to an installer, together with our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in keeping accurate business records. We will not use your details for unrelated marketing without your separate consent.

Who we share it with

To provide the service you've asked for, we share your enquiry with one installer from our directory so they can quote for your job. That installer is a separate data controller and uses your details under their own privacy policy. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to multiple installers or unrelated third parties.

We also use trusted service providers to run the website and store your enquiry securely (our hosting and database providers), who process data on our behalf. Enquiries are stored in our own database, not with a third-party form service.

How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry only as long as needed to provide the service and for our legitimate business records, after which it is securely deleted. Fuse-box photos are stored for up to 90 days and then deleted automatically; they are shared only with the installer matched to your enquiry.

Installer listings created from public sources

Our directory includes listings for EV charger installation businesses. Some of these are created by us from publicly available sources rather than provided by the business itself. Where a business is a sole trader or partnership, this information can be personal data, so here is what you should know if a listing is about you (this section is our notice under Article 14 UK GDPR):

  • What we collect: business name, website address, the areas and services the business advertises, publicly stated accreditations, and public company records (registered name, company number, status and incorporation year). We do not store personal email addresses or personal phone numbers from these sources.
  • Where it comes from: the information in a listing comes from the business's own public website and Companies House (public register, reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0). To discover and cross-reference EV-specialist installers we also use search and mapping services (such as Google, from which we store only a reference identifier) and the Electric Vehicle Consumer Code (EVCC) member list.
  • Why, and our lawful basis: to operate an accurate, useful directory of EV charger installers. We rely on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR), assessed and documented in a Legitimate Interests Assessment.
  • Who can see it and who we share it with: a published listing appears on our public directory, so it is visible to anyone who visits the site. We also use trusted hosting and database providers that process the data on our behalf. We do not sell the data.
  • International transfers: our listings are stored in the UK or EEA. Some of our providers, and the search/mapping services we use to discover businesses, may process data outside the UK — where they do, it is under appropriate safeguards.
  • No automated decisions about you: we do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you by automated means. A person reviews a listing before it is published.
  • What we don't do: we never present an unverified listing as checked, endorsed or "verified", we don't publish personal email addresses from these sources, and we don't create reviews or ratings.
  • How long we keep it: we keep a listing while it is in the directory. If you ask us to remove it, or if the business is dissolved, we take down the public listing and keep only a minimal suppression record — enough to stop it being re-created when we refresh our data.
  • Your rights: you can claim the listing (to manage it yourself), ask us to correct it, restrict or object to its use, or have it removed — using our remove or correct a listing form or by emailing hello@evova.uk. No account is needed. When you make a request we log it, review it, and action the removal or correction — promptly, and within one month at the latest. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and consent

When you first visit, we ask whether you're happy for us to use optional analytics cookies. Nothing optional is set until you choose "Accept", and you can change your mind at any time.

  • Strictly necessary: a small first-party cookie (evova_consent) records your choice for six months so we can respect it. This is essential and needs no consent.
  • Analytics (optional): if you accept, we use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see how the site is used. We use Google Consent Mode, so these cookies and the related data collection stay disabled until you opt in. We do not use advertising, remarketing or personalisation cookies.

For analytics, Google acts as our processor and may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. You can change your choice at any time — — or by clearing cookies in your browser. Declining analytics does not affect your ability to use the site or request a quote.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, or ask us to delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email hello@evova.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
